Alistair Paterson came for a driver fitting with me on Wednesday morning which has resulted in him averaging approximately 20 extra yards carry on his drives.
Alistair tried drivers from PING, Callaway, TaylorMade, Cobra and Titleist before settling for the latest Callaway Great Big Bertha driver and 5 wood.
Interestingly Alistair averaged 10 yards further with his new 5 wood than his existing 3 wood. This is not uncommon with modern fairways that players hit their 5 wood further than their 3, which further cements the importance of being properly fit for your set.
From the TrackMan report you can see the improvements from his own driver (the TaylorMade SLDR)
Quote from Alistair
"It's been extremely instructive and I learned a huge amount about my swing from the fitting. Jason was extremely helpful, patient and understanding, and I'm delighted to have gained extra distance from my new driver and fairway wood".
