Lady Captains Day - Tuesday, 2 August
A Big Thank you from our Lady captain Debbie Sedgeman.
Thank you all for your support for my Captain's Day, and for your gifts and cards.
Unfortunately, we didn't have the nice sunny day we all hoped, for but despite the rain everyone tells me they enjoyed the day.
Thank you to the boys in the gazebo for giving up their time to entertain us and supply the refreshments in the half-way house.
Thank you to Keith, Nick and Gavin the Greenstaff boys.
To Gareth, Phil and Tracy in the Office, to Jason & Matt in the Pro Shop, and to Dougie for offering to do the cards for me.
I had a fantastic day and it was great to have my family around me to share such a special day in the ladies golfing calendar.
Special thanks goes to Cara and Andy and their team of staff, most of them youngsters who fed and watered us for the superb evening meal. I think you'll all agree the laying up and the display of colour on our dining tables was superb. It's all about team work and the staff and members of West Cornwall Golf Club did us proud.
Once again thank you all for sharing my Captain's Day and giving me your continued support. It certainly was a great day and the memories will stay with me for ever.
Good Golfing!
Debbie

Learmonth Bowl
The Learmonth Bowl, a 36-hole medal took place at West Cornwall on Sunday, and although a small field there were plenty of good players taking part.
The first group lead the way with Mike Kent, a previous winner, scoring the best round of the day with a nett 66. Matt Richards managed 68 as did Dan Woodcock. Bradley Barnes, Ryan Moore (Mullion) and Dave Elliott then all managed 70 and with 6 scores of 71, there was still everything to play for.
In the afternoon Richards shot nett 71 but his gross 70 to go with the morning 67 gave him a comfortable win in the scratch competition. Kent shot 73 to finish with 139, but it was Jason Hackett who managed a great 66 in the afternoon to go with his morning 72 to finish on 138 and win the title.
