Harry Hall Wins the Welsh Youth Open under 21's
Held on the weekend of 31st May and the 1st June 2014, Harry was lying in 2nd place after day one with rounds of 68 and 67. Harry also managed a hole in one in round 3 on the 2nd hole Par 3 145 yards. Making a late charge in the last round, Harry scored 5 under par for his last 9 holes to secure his win. He scored rounds of 68, 67,67 and 65 for an amazing total of 17 under par.
Harrys new handicap is now +3.
County Champion Matt Richards playing in the same tournament was lying in 4th place after 2 rounds, but a third round 73 spoiled his chances of winning. Matt still finished a very credible 11th place with a 4 round total of 4 under par.

Ladies Open
84 players took part in the Ladies Open on Thursday May 29th, with teams from Tehidy (3), Falmouth(2), Perranporth(2), Killiow, Cape Cornwall, Looe, Mullion and China Fleet. The rain kept off until near the end and the wind didn't blow too hard.
Longest drive bronze was won by Julie Ford from China Fleet, Longest drive silver and nearest the pin on the 15th by Ros Fox.
6th to 2nd prize were decided on countback.
7th prize with 77pts was won by Antoinette Richards, Fiona Grose and Lis Jenkin (West Cornwall)
6th with 78 - Edwina Thomas, Annelie Sweet and Donna Gibson (West Cornwall)
5th with 78 - Vera Eade, Mandy Wright and Vicky Lee-Comyn (Perranporth)
4th with 78 - Ann Uren, Julia Waters and Chris James (West Cornwall + guest)
3rd with 78 - Felicity Chiddicks, Margaret Eddy and Mandy Wright (West Cornwall + Yeovil)
2nd with 78 - Margaret Hosking, Margaret O'Doherty and Mary Jones (West Cornwall)
1st, with a stunning 84 points were the team of Chris Williams, Liz Shrivell and Sue Houghton from Tehidy. Liz complimented West Cornwall on the state of the course and the excellence of the catering in her thank you speech.
Altogether it was an enjoyable day if somewhat exhausting for the organisers. Many thanks to those who came in to do the raffle, Margery Richards and Mary Jenkin; hand out the cards, Sue Lucarotti and Beryl Stevens; and our indefatigable starter, Ann Eddy. Lynne Bishop did her usual stunning table arrangement - thank you Lynne, and finally Colleen who was roped in at the last minute to take the photographs.
The Shallard Cup
The ladies played for the Shallard Cup on Tuesday May 27th. The weather was beautiful, and all those who played enjoyed the day very much. The winner was Allison Gessey with 33 points.

Following on from the National Golf Month which took place in May, Matt Tucknott PGA has organised another "Learn Golf In A Day" session which is going to take place later this month. Although most of our members wouldn't consider themselves as beginners, this session is not only open to members but also their friends and families. Children's "Get Into Golf" days
This summer there will be a range of activities going on up at West Cornwall Golf Club to encourage all ages and abilities to play more golf. Matt Tucknott PGA Professional has organised 2 fun pack skill development days for juniors to get involved with. Once again these sessions like the adults ones are aimed at everyone from complete beginners to those in their first few years of golf whether you are a member or not.
