A Strong Team
A big welcome to Nicolas Brewaeys who joins our team this week. Here is a bit about him in his own words:
My passion for the game of golf started when my Dad bought me my first set of clubs in 1998 age 10 at Flamingo Golf Club in Tunisia.
Five years later, I joined David Leadbetter Golf Academy in Montpellier France where I had a phenomenal progression with my game and teaching knowledge around the swing and always had a keen interest in putting and short game.
In 2006 I moved to Spain where I joined the Academy at La Cala Resort and brought my handicap down to +2.
I then had an opportunity I couldn't refuse to move to Emirates GC in Dubai and be under the wing of Mark Gregson-Walters who prepared me for Q-School.
My next progression took my family and me to Bordeaux where I successfully qualified as a PGA Professional in 2013. I specialised in group and 1 to 1 coaching from all ages and level of play. Short game and putting is where I have extended my knowledge and very keen with that part of the game. I speak fluent French and teaching in both languages.
For the last 3 years I have been working as an Assistant Manager with American Golf where I have developed great experience on custom fitting, customer services and golf equipment.
I am delighted to be working at West Cornwall GC alongside Jason and Matt and I look forward meeting the members and visitors.
Also I'm very excited to welcome Ian Harris who joined our team last week. Ian who was the club professional at Mullion for 15 years brings along his wealth of experience and knowledge to help deliver the best service and advice to the members of West Cornwall. Ian will be helping in the Pro shop 2 days per week. Ian is no longer a member of the PGA so will not be able to offer any coaching but his knowledge on all the other aspects of the profession, from custom fitting clubs to retail merchandising will be invaluable to our team.
Matt Tucknott continues to help numerous golfers around the county to enjoy their golf more and is very excited to be teaching up at the Open next month with the PGA, offering golf lessons to the visitors of the event.
Megan Winfield has now been with us for 5 weeks and is settling in well. Megan is excited to learn more and improve her golf. Megan learnt to play golf in Spain and is looking forward to getting her first official handicap and joining the Ladies on Tuesdays in their competitions.
