Ladies Club Championships

The ladies Club championships took place on Tuesday 19th August and our congratulations go to Judy Ryder who came out victorious with a gross score of 161. The runner up was Gill Cattran with a gross 175.

An 18 hole stableford run in conjuntion with the Championship was won by Amanda Stevens with 39 points. 2nd place was won by Vivienne Rowe with 36 points followed by Mary Jones in 3rd place with 34 points.

The Handicap Salver

The Handicap Salver (The Chalcroft Salver) was won by 15 year old Harriet Rowe with a nett score of 145 winning on the countback from Christine Matthews.

The best am round was from Casey Olds with a score of 74.

The best pm round was by Annelie Sweet with a score of 69.

Summer Junior Golf skills Day 22.08.14

The final Junior Golf Skills Days for this Summer holidays was held last week at WCGC. The ever popular day saw 8 juniors develop their golf skills throughout the day under the watchful eye of PGA Professional and Director of Junior Coaching for Cornwall Golf Matt Tucknott. There was plenty of time set aside for all aspects of golf to be practised before each golf skill was tested to see who was achieving the best result.

The winner of the longest drive competition which was held from the 18th hole's tee was Ethan Tempest. The winner of the nearest the pin competition which was played on the 1st hole was Jonty Jenkin. All the juniors enjoyed the day and it appeared that everyone took something away from the day which will help them play better golf next time they are out on the course.

The next junior golf skills day will take place on Friday the 31st of October, details will be published soon and booking as always is advisable to secure your space.

Monthly Lesson Packages

If you are serious about improving your golf and therefore getting better results next time you play out on the golf course, please consider investing in one of the limited monthly golf lesson packages that Matt Tucknott is offering this September. One off lessons are ok to fix the odd bad shot when you may be having out on the course, but if you want to start playing better golf, a more long term view/strategy could be the answer. There are only 10 of these packages available so please be quick in booking your route to better results.
