Ladies Invitation
The Seniors Section stepped into spring with the annual invitation to the Ladies Section. It was a mixed greensomes and played on Thursday, 28 March in glorious spring sunshine with little wind. Both captains, Bill Bunn and Mandy Dennison, respectively commented that along with the weather, the course was in great condition and the scoring reflected that. The 18 pairings were pre-drawn and led to some well-matched combinations with Rachel Perkin and Mike Richards coming out on top with 43 points. Rachel commented, “I was driving well while Mike was putting everything that he was presented with – a great team effort” while Mike just nodded his approval! An enjoyable day was had with golf balls presented to four groups who managed a two at the par 3’s and nearest the pin winners presented with a bottle of wine. The Captains thanked everyone for playing and we’re sure everyone is looking forward to the Ladies Invitation return in May. |
Results 1st - Mike Richards & Rachel Perkin - 43 points 2nd - David Phillips & Edwina Thomas - 42 points 3rd - Steve Wicks & Sheila Currie - 40 points Nearest the pin

Boa constrict your footwear |
There's been two major trends in the golf footwear market in recent years: the first is the surge in spikeless shoes, and the other is Boa. So, what actually is the Boa Fit System and is it anything to do with snakes? |
| FootJoy UltraFIT Boa golf shoe
|
|
No, it's nothing to do with snakes. Phew. Rather, the Boa Fit System has revolutionized footwear for the better and we absolutely love it. Instead of using traditional laces, Boa utilises a steel wire (virtually unbreakable) that is effortlessly tightened via an easy-to-use dial strategically placed on the shoe (seen above). To loosen, simply pull out the dial and open up at the tongue. |
With FootJoy's UltraFIT Boa, which is available in-store now, you will be guaranteed a comfortable fit every time safe in the knowledge that your laces will not come undone or get tangled throughout your round. If you haven’t already experienced Boa, then we implore you to come down to the store and try on this fantastic option today - no obligation. |
