Winter League 1/11/2014
The 4th Winter League of the series took place on Saturday with 48 pairs taking to the course on what was an increasingly windy afternoon.
Despite the weather conditions, Rod Jenkin and John Turner managed 44 points to win the event with Mel Polglase and Vice-Captain, Ian Hanley a point further back on 43. Jeff Green and Mark Hughes managed 42 points, and there were 41 points recorded by Jason Hackett with Charlie Rouncefield and Joel Cameron partnering Allan Howells.
With the event split between low and high handicaps, this does leave Rod Jenkin leading the way for the low handicap category on 52 with Andrew Kevern lying second, but already 9 points behind, having amassed 43. Joel Cameron is third on 41 with both Perran Griffin and Mark Hughes having 40.
The high division is a bit closer with Richard Glasson on 48 leading Lee McGarraghy and Dave Phillips, who both have 45 by three and Howard Green is a further 3 behind on 42. With Craig Darlow and Eammon McWilliams a point back on 41, there is still plenty to play for.
The next round is due to take place on Saturday, 15 November, whilst Saturday, 8 November sees the next Junior Winter League.
