Terry England wins using his new TaylorMade clubs
Terry England (pictured recieving his prize from seniors captain Simon Pengelly) playing in his first competition since purchasing a set of TaylorMade Rocketballz irons last week, is obviously delighted in the difference these irons have made to his game. Terry, a 28 handicapper, triumphed in the Seniors Section Shield Event at West Cornwall on 6 March. Playing in miserable drizzly conditions, which saw nearly 50% of the field withdraw before starting, Terry achieved a winning Nett score of 68 (Gross 96) to take first prize and the Shield.
Of the remaining 24 players who braved the conditions five further prize vouchers were awarded as follows:
2nd Place - Alistair Paterson
3rd Place - Dennis Nicholls
4th Place - Barrie Higgins
5th Place - Simon Pengelly
6th Place - Peter Gregory
Nearest the Pin on the 15th green went to Phil Thomas with 3.15 metres.

Ladies Competition, Cornwall v Rest of the World
Tuesday 4th March
A wet competition but played in good spirit which saw the Rest of the World win 10 to 6. It was a friendly day and all the ladies who played stayed and enjoyed themselves back in the clubhouse. Beryl Stevens, who does not get the opportunity to play much at the moment came and presented the cup. Felicity Chiddicks made the Cornish Pasty tree. Bad luck Cornwall! better luck next year!
Below are pictures taken on the day with Ros Fox and Beryl Stevens enjoying the social side after the match, and Mary Jones sporting a fantastic Spring themed hat.
