Garfield Daniels Mixed Event - Sunday, 12th April
Blustery conditions made scoring very difficult in the first open event of the year at West Cornwall. The Garfield Daniels is a mixed event comprising 18-hole greensomes in the morning followed by a 9-hole better ball in the afternoon.
The morning greensomes saw home pairs of
Keith Dennison &
Mandy Stevens and
Peter Verran &
Gill Prodger sharing the half time lead on 35 points. Sharing third place were
Helen &
Roger Dugdale and junior pairing
Kira Barnes and
Ryan Howes just 2 back on 33. Previous winners,
David &
Mary Jones were 5th on 32. The leading visiting pair were
Debi Hall &
Ian Churcher from Falmouth on 27 points.
The 9-hole afternoon better ball saw slightly better conditions with the wind dropping. Stevens & Dennison managed a creditable 19 points but it was Prodger & Verran who took the overall honours with 22 points to finish on a total of 57. Hall & Churcher scored 16 points in the afternoon to win the best visiting pair on a total of 43.
5 pairs recorded a 2, being,
Prodger &

How do you fancy joining me on a fantastic golfing holiday to remember. I am hoping to organise a golfing experience to remember at the fabulous Moon palace resort in Cancun, Mexico. This is a 5 star all inclusive resort with a 27 hole Jack Nicklaus course on site and other amazing courses nearby. As many of you know, Sibyl and I went to Mexico last year on our honeymoon and had an amazing experience which I can thoroughly recommend. Mexico offers a fantastic standard of hotels and facilities which are among the best in the world.
The purpose of this is to ascertain initial interest and to run through how the package will work.
This package may vary a bit as I'm hoping that this trip will also appeal to non golfing partners.
The General Package Will Include:
- 9 nights All Inclusive at Moon Palace Golf Resort & Spa with Unlimited Golf (Moon Palace & Riviera Cancun) from the 1st - 9th February 2016.
- Flights from Gatwick airport
- Unlimited golf at Moon Palace and Rivera Cancun golf clubs.
- All food and drinks at the resorts are included (except at Rivera Cancun Golf Club)
- All transport to and from courses and airport.
54 hole tournament and practice rounds will amount to 6 scheduled rounds during the stay, but as golf is included there is nothing to stop you playing more.
The cost of this trip is approximately £2100 which offers exceptional value for money when you consider that you need not spend another penny during your stay if you don't want to. Check out the resort by clicking here.
