Jordan Musitano had a fantastic round in the Elsa Buchanan Bowl, who shot a very good 39 points to win by 3 strokes on Sunday morning with the course playing fast and tough.
Jordan is currently having regular lessons with the younger of our 2 Assistant Professionals, Matt Curnoe, and it really looks like it's paying dividends.
Jordan's handicap was 5 when we started and the target was to be off 3 by the end of the summer before he goes back to college, now at 4.6 the target is looking realistic.
"We have an hour lesson every 2 weeks. Serious improvements have come from a hundred yards in and the mental aspect of the game, which are vital to scoring well and trying to stay positive.
If you're thinking about lessons, Matt may be the the coach for you."
Matt has numerous lesson plans available starting from £10, and can be flexible with your needs.

PGA Advanced Golf Professional Award Every year the Professional Golfers Association recognises the success, experience and personal & professional development of its Members through the membership categories that it bestows upon them. Through the Accreditation of Professional Achievement & Learning scheme, a member must submit a portfolio of their achievements and they may be awarded one of four titles, PGA Master Professional, PGA Advanced Fellow, PGA Fellow Professional or PGA Advanced Professional.
Matt Tucknott PGA has been awarded the title/category of PGA Advanced Golf Professional in recognition of his continuous support, development of junior golf and his personal professional development as a golf coach. He becomes one of only a few professionals in Cornwall to have achieved this mark and joins only a very select group of Professionals in the South West who have also reached this standard. Matt is now busy studying and working towards his PGA Director of Golf (Part 1) Qualification which runs alongside the work he carries out for Cornwall Golf as Director of Junior County Coaching.
Golf in the community project Last month West Cornwall Golf Club continued it's support towards the growth and development of junior golf within the local area by attending and running the Penwith School games Tri-Golf festival held at Mounts Bay School. Matt Tucknott PGA Advanced Professional lead and directed the event which saw 30 primary pupils compete in teams of 5 (school years 3 to 6) with two teams qualifying for the Cornwall School Games Finals on the 26th June.
Matt Curnoe PGA trainee @ WCGC also attended the event gaining valuable experience in running and coaching big groups of children under the watchful eye of Matt (senior).
The pupils participated in 8 carefully constructed and well planned out challenges to test their newly acquired golf skills. The two schools qualifying through to the School Games Finals were, Heamoor in 1st place, followed very closely by St Erth in 2nd. The day was a huge success and hopefully we will see some new faces coming along to our golf club to try out some more golf in the near future. If you know of any school which might like to explore the possibilities of running a Tri-Golf festival please do contact Matt Tucknott on 07516 637816 and see what can arranged in the future?
